The City of Bantul has solidified its steps towards a creative city network on the international version of the UNESCO or UCCN in 2023. This Bantul commitment is demonstrated by holding international-scale events with various activities namely Exhibition, Seminar, Workshop, Art and Culture Pentas which are housed in The Rattan from 12-14 December 2022.
The highlight of the Bantul Launching Event Towards the UCCN World Creative Cities Network will be held by Parangkusumo Fashion Week featuring international classrooms and modelers on December 15, 2022 starting at 15:00 – 21.30 WIB. Admirers from various countries brought in will use fashion works designed by creative insan Bantul. In addition to the clothing worn by the modelers, on this occasion Bantul creative industrial products will also be brought (kriya) made by Bantul cryawan.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno me-Launching Bantul towards the World Creative District specifically provides full support for the efforts of the Bantul Regency to be an important part of UCCN. This real support was conveyed by Mas Minister through the dialogue “ Bantul Investment Forum ” with the Bantul Regent, Creative Economy Committee, Bantul Creative Forum, Warkaban Forum, and other participants present in Jakarta.
Bantul Regency must continue to innovate, adapt, and collaborate with the spirit of 3G namely Gercep, Geber, and Gaspol. It must be recognized that with the existence of a creative industry in the field of craft and folk art that continues to grow large will have a significant impact on opportunities to reduce social inequality. The opening of new jobs will be able to improve the economy of a society that prospered the life of the nation.
Bantul Launching towards UCCN as a concrete step in the Bantul District government along with OPD-OPD related to the reality intended to improve the economic welfare of the Bantul people in a system and continuous manner in the realm of the creative industry craft and folk art. Launching will be a joint lighter to synergize and collaborate with the world of education, the art community, artists, clergy, creative actors, creative industries, governments, and the general public.
Parangkusumo Fashion Week will be a model of synergy and collaboration that has a broad impact on the international world view that Bantul has all the potential and is indeed worthy of obtaining certification from UCCN as a craft and ecosystem locus folk art.
Parangkusumo Fashion Week held on December 15, 2022 in the Sand Mump is a rare place called in the geology of sand dunes as a stretch of sand similar to deserts found in the Middle East region or Africa. The existence of the Sand Mumble included in the coastal dunes is present in all latitudes in the world, from the poles to the equator. This is the Indonesian Sahara Desert which we must protect to become an icon of the Pillows and provide a joint awareness movement that building a world-class creative city is also obliged to have earthy empathy.
