Nur Ahmadi

His influence as a batik activist in Wukirsari village has resulted in the dissemination of Wukirsari written batik outside of Java and abroad.

Nur Ahmadi is actively involved in the development of tourist communities, particularly in the Bantul Regency. He has served as the chairman of Pokdarwis Wukirsari 2019-2020 and the chairman of the Batik-Written Association from 2009 to the present.

He became a partner in the Bantul Tourism Office’s institutional capacity building project. In 2007, he established Sekar Arum Batik Gallery.

Giriloyo is one of the places where batik artists predominate. There are still 540 families that are dedicated to preserving the batik that has evolved since the days of the Mataram monarchy.

Giriloyo batik tourism village development will continue until it is verified as a tourist village area and a destination for visitors visiting to learn batik. The Giriloyo batik tourist village’s ups and downs have had a lot of implications, including the 2006 Jogja earthquake and the 2020 Covid epidemic.
